The Cardholder Services people called me on two lines at once again. I held cell phone up to speakerphone and the reps started talking to each other. As soon as one of them observed that the lines were crossed, I shouted "They're crossed because you people called me on two lines at the same time. Take me off your damned list." Obviously, they both hung up immediately.

The fact that these calls continue despite laws and complaints suggests that they're effectively untraceable, meaning that there's a serious lack of accountability for use of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

The FTC can make all the Do Not Call lists it wants, but in the end it just doesn't matter because the technology infrastructure prevents enforcement, and the FCC doesn't seem to understand or care.
